Software Engineer II, Loyalty – Core

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, document, and deploy backend services and APIs.

• Engage in the on-call rotation, addressing and resolving production issues.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to implement backend features and enhancements.

• Participate in code reviews and team discussions to ensure high-quality, maintainable systems.

• Contribute to sprint planning, architectural reviews, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Gain familiarity with systems, platform architecture, and customer use cases.

• Keep abreast of backend technologies, tools, and best engineering practices.

• Occasionally attend FBG office or industry events for collaboration and team-building.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional industry experience.

• Expertise in developing backend systems using Java (Spring Framework or similar).

• In-depth knowledge of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and object-oriented programming principles.

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Experience in production environments and resolving real-time issues.

• Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases and basic data modeling concepts.

• Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork abilities.

• Comfortable utilizing AI tools to enhance development workflows.

• Preferred: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and modern DevOps practices.

• Preferred: Interest in scaling systems, distributed architectures, and performance optimization.

• Preferred: Experience with Datadog or similar observability tools.
