Software Engineer II – Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain innovative software solutions for internal clients from inception to deployment.

• Establish architecture, technical frameworks, and engineering methodologies for a new platform.

• Integrate or extract functionalities from existing legacy systems.

• Create backend services primarily utilizing Python, focusing on Flask.

• Construct and integrate solutions leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB.

• Enhance and sustain deployment pipelines alongside CI/CD processes.

• Develop and manage infrastructure utilizing OpenTofu and Terraform.

• Collaborate with stakeholders regarding the product roadmap, communicate updates, identify risks, and facilitate delivery within an Agile/Scrum framework.

• Work closely with the Tech Lead and Engineering Manager on technical decisions and scalable development methodologies.

• Engage in code reviews and contribute to team-wide engineering standards and practices.

• Guide junior developers in Python and engineering methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience.

• Profound knowledge of Python programming.

• At least 5 years of experience with Flask is preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS, particularly services like Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Salesforce.

• At least 3 years of experience in building or maintaining deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes.

• Skilled in writing clean, readable, and well-documented code adhering to modern best practices.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as OpenTofu and Terraform.

• Experience thriving in an Agile environment employing Scrum methodologies.

• Proven ability to collaborate with Product Owners and technical leadership to deliver tasks from a prioritized roadmap or backlog.

• Strong grasp of software development, testing, code quality, maintainability, and technical documentation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to remain organized and effective under pressure while managing time-sensitive obligations.

• Growth mindset with an eagerness to progress from a senior engineering role to technical leadership.

• A strong sense of mentorship and a commitment to supporting fellow team members.

• Experience in the financial services or lending industry is a significant advantage.

• AWS certification is preferred.
