Software Engineer II – Data Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance services that handle substantial data volumes while overseeing storage and retrieval.

• Engage in the design, development, enhancement, operation, and automation of observability solutions for scalable and resilient services.

• Utilize Open Source technologies such as Kubernetes and Kafka in conjunction with internal tools.

• Adhere to contemporary DevOps methodologies by creating new services and refining existing ones.

• Conduct testing, profiling, and monitoring of code performance.

• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers to analyze system performance and reliability.

• Contribute to internal research processes, methodologies, strategies, and best practices.

• Work closely with product owners, development, and testing teams to establish rapid feedback and enhancement cycles.

• Design, develop, and test applications and services for future Akamai offerings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in programming and automating processes using Java and various other programming languages.

• Familiarity with web technologies and frameworks, including Spring.

• Experience in working with databases and proficiency in SQL query syntax.

• Understanding of the development, management, and deployment of highly scalable applications and distributed systems.

• Knowledge of modern observability practices.

• Experience in software development within GNU/Linux or Unix environments.

• Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Interest in or experience with cloud deployment using Kubernetes, including platforms like AWS or Linode.

• Interest in or experience with Kafka.
