Software Engineer II – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take complete ownership of the delivery process for features or services, which encompasses design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational management.

• Leverage AI-driven development tools to enhance efficiency, minimize repetitive tasks, and elevate the quality of development.

• Work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to define and prioritize significant initiatives.

• Recognize edge cases and potential failure scenarios, and create systems that address them effectively.

• Engage in and lead technical discussions, offering constructive feedback on design and implementation.

• Produce clear, well-tested, and maintainable code while assisting others in achieving the same standard.

• Conduct testing at various levels, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and manual testing.

• Oversee and maintain production services, which includes participating in on-call rotations and responding to incidents.

• Enhance code quality, developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and overall engineering processes.

• Guide early-career engineers and elevate the technical capabilities of the team.

• Define project scope, convert user requirements into technical solutions, and provide insights on trade-offs and timelines.

• Represent the engineering team in cross-functional discussions and take accountability for the results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks, such as TypeScript, Java, Python, or PHP.

• Strong practical knowledge of AWS; capable of independently building, deploying, and debugging applications using standard services.

• Ability to contribute effectively to infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

• Experience with distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and full-stack development.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and best practices in DevOps.

• Capable of writing high-quality, testable, and thoroughly documented code.

• Comfortable using AI development tools in a thoughtful and critical manner.

• Excellent collaboration skills and the capacity to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be able to work remotely using personal laptop/equipment that meets minimum technical specifications.

• Experienced in building applications independently across the entire stack.

• Ability to design and implement moderately complex features and services.

• Proficient in working with APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and front-end components.
