Senior Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Engage in innovative software development and provide product support.

• Collaborate effectively with a Scrum team throughout the entire development lifecycle.

• Convert requirements into high-quality, valuable outputs.

• Operate within an Agile development environment and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies.

• Partner on the design, development, and delivery of software solutions.

• Test, debug, and enhance current applications.

• Contribute to code review processes.

• Analyze and investigate software requirements for user stories and epics.

• Address customer complaints and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements.

• Acquire new technologies and integrate them into cloud and product infrastructure.

• Escalate issues to senior developers and assist in identifying solutions.

• Update stakeholders on changes, updates, and risks.

• Travel for organizational or departmental events, team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and client engagements as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or a combination of education and experience totaling 5+ years is required.

• At least 4+ years of software development experience with modern programming languages and methodologies.

• Proven track record of delivering customer value quickly while ensuring high software quality.

• Proficient in Ruby, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.JS, Jasper, and Java.

• Preferred experience with MS SQL Server, MySQL, and CouchDB.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred.

• Skilled in common development tools such as Git and Jira.

• Knowledge of pair programming, QA processes, and deployments.

• Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables.

• Commitment to awareness, execution, and enhancement of relevant team standards.

• Creative, adaptable, and passionate about developing quality software.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently when required.

• Must be able to travel to multiple site locations within the assigned territory.

• Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.

• Availability for ad-hoc work outside normal business hours.
