Software Engineer II, Backend – Decisions Orchestration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create the next iteration of Affirm’s Checkout Platform.

• Develop financial products and features that enhance accessibility and flexibility for users.

• Design and implement APIs and microservice interfaces that manage customer transactions.

• Identify opportunities to enhance performance and reliability within systems that drive the purchasing journey.

• Develop innovative strategies to address significant, open-ended challenges.

• Take ownership of checkout-system components and define their long-term sustainability.

• Enhance the health of interconnected systems.

• Collaborate with engineers across the organization to construct the next-generation checkout platform.

• Elevate engineering standards, tools, and processes across the checkout platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in developing, testing, and deploying high-quality software at scale.

• Background in designing and implementing APIs and microservice interfaces.

• Experience in enhancing system performance and reliability.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Proficiency in Kotlin.

• Familiarity with RPC.

• Experience with Redis.

• Knowledge of MySQL.

• Experience with AWS.

• Proficient in GitHub.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate with product and engineering leaders and provide constructive peer feedback.
