This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and oversee Talent shared services, which encompass user management, authentication and SSO, role-based access control, and notification systems.
• Establish and manage data exchange integrations and APIs with employers, educational institutions, and partner systems, ensuring clear contracts, effective error handling, and ongoing monitoring.
• Create reusable services, libraries, and documentation for use by other engineering teams.
• Produce clean, tested, and maintainable code for both front-end and back-end applications.
• Engage in code reviews and participate in technical design discussions.
• Utilize AI-assisted development methodologies, including code generation, test creation, refactoring, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Security, and Compliance teams to transform identity, access, and data-handling requirements into software solutions.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, improve test coverage, and boost observability.
• Take part in the on-call rotation.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, uphold high standards, and provide direct, low-ego feedback.
• Take ownership of shared-service components from design to production and progressively manage larger systems.
• Report to the Tech Lead of Foundations and work in partnership with teammates, product partners, and engineers from other domain teams.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably at a SaaS startup or a similar setting, with a track record of owning features from inception to completion.
• Proficiency in Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar) and TypeScript/JavaScript (React, Next.js), along with a solid understanding of PostgreSQL.
• Experience in building and consuming APIs.
• Basic understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (sessions, tokens, OAuth, role-based permissions).
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS or Google Cloud).
• Comfortable debugging production issues using logs and monitoring tools.
• Familiar with AI-native workflows utilizing coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude to enhance productivity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation capabilities.
• A genuine passion for technology that enhances access to education and promotes economic mobility.

• Nice to have: Experience with SSO (SAML, OIDC) or user provisioning (e.g., SCIM).
