Software Engineer II, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +24 more states.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the Bubble infrastructure, enabling scalability for applications of varying sizes and complexities.

• Enhance performance and reliability across backend services.

• Support efficiency, capacity management, and the data tier.

• Implement observability initiatives and SLOs across essential system components.

• Present performance characteristics to end users.

• Develop and refine backbone services that handle billions of requests.

• Contribute to the workflow engine and data tier to facilitate high-volume ingestion, export, and workflows.

• Establish foundational services and tools for the next generation of cloud infrastructure.

• Engage in triage and on-call processes.

• Diagnose and resolve issues while implementing preventative measures.

• Collaborate with a small engineering team to nurture an inclusive and effective culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience as a software engineer.

• Proficient coding skills.

• Basic understanding of scalable distributed systems.

• Eagerness to gain expertise in Node.js, Rust, PostgreSQL, and Terraform.

• Experience with AWS is advantageous.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Proven track record of contributing to solutions that scale for complex and high-traffic applications.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to commit to and carry out priorities effectively.

• Openness to participate in on-call processes.

• Alignment with Bubble's core values.
