Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and sustain intricate software systems.

• Produce high-quality code for medium-complexity situations, ensuring good test coverage.

• Analyze and transform product requirements into robust design specifications.

• Guarantee that applications are modular, configurable, reusable, fast, effective, user-friendly, secure, compliant, scalable, and maintainable.

• Assist with the support needs of application systems.

• Engage in application design and code evaluation sessions.

• Uphold best practices, comply with Mercury standards, and maintain high quality.

• Mentor and offer technical guidance to junior engineers.

• Cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence within Mercury engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficient in programming using one or more industry-standard languages (e.g., Java, Python, GoLang, C++, JavaScript).

• Experienced in utilizing various Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns.

• Knowledgeable in relational databases, NoSQL, and caching solutions.

• Familiar with APIs using modern protocols such as REST and gRPC.

• Understanding of message queuing, data streaming, workflow, and integration frameworks (like Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, Amazon SQS, MS MQ, Apache Camel, etc.).

• Comprehension of microservices architecture.

• Proficient in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledgeable in leveraging DevSecOps to enhance engineering efficiency.

• Experienced in designing and implementing high-quality applications that are modular, configurable, maximize reuse, and are fast, effective, user-friendly, secure, compliant, scalable, and maintainable.

• Ability to collaborate with and influence other teams to mitigate obstacles and achieve desired outcomes.
