Senior Full-stack Engineer, Next.js, TypeScript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Take full responsibility for the end-to-end platform, including frontend development, backend creation, infrastructure support, and expansion.

• Design new products, such as a universal login system, a unified Identity layer, and a subscription and privilege management portal, integrating Stripe and custom APIs.

• Enhance content architecture by migrating from standard articles to multi-type feeds that include videos, galleries, and mixed streams.

• Manage 2 or more projects concurrently with sprints lasting 2–6 weeks, while integrating urgent requests from marketing or editorial teams.

• Debug and resolve complex asynchronous conflicts (race conditions) during the initialization of advertising scripts and third-party SDKs, including IAS.

• Collaborate with AdTech and optimize rendering processes.

• Follow the flow of preview branch → PR → review → merge → release.

• Conduct frequent small deployments without releases on Fridays.

• Independently assess tasks, participate in direction planning with the CTO, and test and document code within the project without designated QA and PM.

• Develop new sub-projects for a U.S. media outlet specializing in motorsports with over 30 years of history.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent spoken and written English.

• 3+ years of experience with Next.js (App Router), React, and TypeScript.

• Solid experience in API creation, database management, and third-party service integration.

• Ability to independently design and implement server-side logic for the platform.

• Understanding of authorization system principles, merging disparate user databases into a unified Identity layer, and implementing Universal Login mechanisms.

• Practical experience with complex asynchronous scenarios (race conditions) and the integration of advertising/third-party SDKs.

• Experience working with UI libraries (Material UI, Tailwind/CSS Modules) and design systems in Storybook.

• Proficient in Jest and React Testing Library.

• Deep understanding of interface accessibility standards (a11y) and experience with automated testing for these standards.

• Practical experience using Figma at a developer level.

• Willingness to overlap with US Pacific time—approximately 4 hours a day, with some evening work (up to 10 PM Kyiv time).

• A plus: experience with Cloudflare Workers/Edge runtime, Hono, D1, KV.

• A plus: deep understanding of the AdTech domain from the publisher's side, including Google Ad Manager, Integral Ad Science, viewability, and tracking.

• A plus: experience integrating payment systems and billing, particularly with Stripe.

• A plus: practical experience building architecture around Headless CMS.

• A plus: experience with Data platforms and analytics tools (BigQuery, Fivetran, Dataform, Looker).

• A plus: setting up tools for visual regression testing, such as Chromatic.

• A plus: experience integrating gamification systems or live data streams.
