Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Champion a positive user experience across UI, CLI, and API platforms.

• Collaborate with product managers to influence user-centered design choices.

• Acquire knowledge and work with distributed systems and Java technologies.

• Engage in code reviews and offer technical insights to enhance design, performance, and usability.

• Analyze and resolve production issues by determining root causes and implementing enduring solutions.

• Promote teamwork and maintain best practices in development and deployment processes.

• Contribute to Akamai EdgeWorkers, a serverless edge-computing solution aimed at web performance enhancement and content delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Strong proficiency in Angular/TypeScript.

• Solid expertise in Java/Spring Boot.

• Capability to produce testable code with unit and integration tests.

• Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities in distributed Linux systems, microservices, and containerized settings.

• Practical experience in writing agent instructions and implementing workflow best practices.

• Skill in assessing user experience across various tools and interfaces.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
