Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Decompose larger projects into smaller tasks, delivering them across multiple phases while collaborating to ensure punctual completion.

• Work together with product management, design, and analytics teams during the ideation and development of products.

• Clearly communicate technical limitations and collaborate on decisions that involve risks and trade-offs.

• Develop and track metrics for team outputs and escalate issues as necessary.

• Assist in maintaining operational availability, performing essential tasks, and being part of on-call initiatives.

• Engage in professional growth and development activities, including participating in interviews.

• Design and manage systems that handle post-transaction interactions related to Affirm Card transactions.

• Ensure accurate resolutions for customers and timely communication following card transactions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems.

• Proficiency in either Python or Kotlin.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Capability to design solutions that involve multiple software components.

• Ability to write clear, well-tested, and extensible code.

• Comfort with navigating large codebases and debugging code written by others.

• Experience in providing constructive feedback through code reviews.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
