This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and deploy features aimed at publishers across Storefront, Storefront Pro, and API partners.
• Enhance the Connect / Carrot Ads API by implementing clear contracts, event management, dead-letter recovery, integration testing, and self-service documentation.
• Create controls for retailers concerning relevance, quality scores, reserve pricing, and ad-load management.
• Improve reporting and data integrity through attribution, catalog and product-ID mapping, reconciliation, and automated health checks.
• Increase reliability by defining and adhering to partner SLAs, improving observability, decreasing incidents and recovery time, while contributing to partner-health monitoring.
• Troubleshoot partner-facing serving and reporting challenges within shared serving, measurement, and quality systems.
• Collaborate with teams in Product, Enterprise Solutions, Serving, Measurement, Ads Quality, and Ads Manager.
• Utilize AI-assisted developer tools while ensuring quality and security standards are met.
• Take ownership of delivered work throughout production and during on-call responsibilities.
• Over 3 years of experience in building and managing production backend services.
• Strong understanding of API design and principles of distributed systems.
• Proficiency in a backend programming language such as Go, Ruby, or Python.
• Proven track record of delivering features from start to finish, with robust testing, observability, and operational accountability.
• Experience in debugging across service boundaries and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Preferred: background in ad tech, retail media, or platforms that engage publishers/partners.
• Preferred: knowledge of Kafka, dead-letter queues, and idempotent processing.
• Preferred: experience with AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure.
• Preferred: expertise in data reconciliation, attribution, or catalog and entity mapping.
• Preferred: familiarity with partner- or customer-facing APIs, documentation, error contracts, and integration testing.
