Software Engineer I, Frontend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance high-traffic frontend experiences for Affirm.js, promotional messaging, experimentation, and tools aimed at developers.

• Collaborate effectively with the team and stakeholders, ensuring transparency regarding potential risks and trade-offs.

• Strike a balance between speed and quality while safeguarding systems from downtime.

• Utilize browser debugging, monitoring, metrics, and testing tools to ensure dependable cross-browser experiences.

• Assist in resolving operational issues alongside the team.

• Participate in growth and development initiatives and contribute to the team community.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior work or internship experience in deploying web applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.

• Previous work or internship experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Capability to transform straightforward problems or business scenarios into solutions that involve multiple software components.

• Proficiency in writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code.

• Comfort in navigating a large codebase.

• Experience in debugging code written by others.

• Ability to offer constructive feedback through code reviews.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be a resident of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan, Canada.
