Software Engineer I – Embedded Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and maintain embedded software for mission processing systems.

• Create and support embedded Linux platforms, bootloaders, board support packages, device drivers, and board bring-up processes.

• Develop firmware for microcontrollers focusing on power control, sequencing, monitoring, communications, and board management.

• Produce embedded applications, diagnostic utilities, manufacturing tools, and system testing software.

• Engage in requirements development, design and code reviews, verification, documentation, and managed releases.

• Collaborate with architects, systems engineering, and testing engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• No prior experience is necessary; 4 years of experience may be accepted in place of a Bachelor’s Degree.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient in C and C++ for embedded or systems-level development.

• Familiarity with embedded Linux, BSPs, bootloaders, device drivers, kernel integration, or board bring-up.

• Capability to develop microcontroller firmware and interact with board-level peripherals.

• Understanding of source control, build systems, testing, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary engineering practices.

• May be required to obtain a U.S. Government export license as mandated by ITAR or EAR U.S. export regulations.
