Software Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable front-end and back-end services for the next generation of applications at Smartsheet utilizing Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, and React.

• Tackle complex distributed systems challenges and engage with modern cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Kubernetes.

• Contribute to code reviews and participate in architectural discussions alongside software engineers and product managers.

• Build collaborative relationships with product management and other crucial areas of the business.

• Improve existing application code by adding new features while balancing build, refactor, and simplify decisions.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance efficiency across coding, testing, design, and troubleshooting tasks.

• Investigate AI integration possibilities within team processes and features.

• Mentor others on effective usage of AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of software development experience in creating highly scalable and highly available applications.

• At least 1 year of programming experience with full stack technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or TypeScript.

• Over 1 year of experience working with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).

• Proven experience in developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs.

• At least 6 months of professional experience leveraging AI to enhance personal productivity in building complex SaaS feature sets.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.

• Flexible and able to adapt as priorities or challenges evolve.

• Willing to take ownership of your work and embrace larger challenges.

• A proficient written and verbal communicator, capable of articulating your thoughts during code reviews, documentation, and team discussions.
