This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Effectively deliver well-defined stories from the team's backlog with support from teammates.
• Write, test, and debug code utilizing a C#/.NET framework and SQL Server as a core component.
• Acquire exposure to React and Node (TypeScript) along with Postgres while working on new product developments.
• Familiarize yourself with the team's codebase and the educator licensure domain.
• Engage in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Contribute to testing, documentation, and production support activities.
• Actively participate in all ceremonies as a member of a self-managing Scrum team.
• Commit to collaborative delivery alongside the team.
• Work with the manager towards advancement to Software Engineer II.
• Report directly to the Senior Software Engineering Manager.
• Strong fundamentals in computer science, covering algorithms, data structures, and proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Basic knowledge of full-stack web development, including web requests, client/server interactions, HTML, and the DOM.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, source control, testing, and CI/CD processes.
• Practical experience with relational databases and SQL.
• A strong intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous growth and improvement.
• Openness to seek assistance and the ability to retain and build upon acquired knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative attitude and a genuine interest in solving problems faced by educational institutions.
• Preferred: experience with C#/.NET or another object-oriented programming language such as Java.
• Preferred: familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Preferred: knowledge of a major public cloud provider, with the company utilizing Azure.
• Preferred: experience through internships, co-ops, apprenticeships, or personal projects that involved delivering functional software.
