Software Engineer – Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy comprehensive features across FamilyWell’s Registry platform, encompassing frontend, backend, and database components.

• Create and manage integrations with core platforms such as Healthie, Candid, Spruce, and HubSpot.

• Develop and maintain APIs and webhooks with a focus on idempotency, retries, and data reconciliation.

• Design and enhance Postgres database schemas and queries, ensuring a balance between performance, data integrity, and clarity.

• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Clinical Operations teams to convert requirements into technical designs and deliverable software.

• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; engage in code reviews and maintain high engineering quality standards.

• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and monitoring/observability efforts.

• Adhere to HIPAA and security best practices in handling protected health information.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues while identifying root causes in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–6+ years of professional experience in software engineering as a full stack developer.

• Proficiency in contemporary JavaScript/TypeScript stacks, such as React/Next.js for the frontend and Node.js or Python for the backend.

• Strong SQL capabilities with experience in relational databases; Postgres is preferred.

• Experience in building and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party platforms/SaaS tools.

• Comfort in working across the entire stack, from UI to backend services and the data layer.

• Strong emphasis on testing discipline and code quality practices, including unit/integration testing, code reviews, and documentation.

• Capability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote startup environment while clearly communicating with cross-functional partners.

• Familiarity with AI-driven development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.

• Nice-to-have: experience in the healthcare or regulated industries, with familiarity with HIPAA and PHI.

• Nice-to-have: exposure to healthcare platforms like Healthie, Spruce, Candid, athenahealth, or similar EMR/RCM systems.

• Nice-to-have: experience with healthcare data related to clinical, claims, or operational data in a warehouse/BI setting.

• Nice-to-have: knowledge of FHIR, HL7, or X12/837-835 standards.

• Nice-to-have: experience with AWS/GCP, Docker, and GitHub Actions.

• Nice-to-have: background in early-stage startup environments.
