Software Engineer, Email & Communications Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and sustain full-stack functionalities within the email and communications platform.

• Engage in large-scale email delivery systems, encompassing sending infrastructure, queue management, throttling, bounce handling, and optimizing deliverability.

• Create and enhance APIs, background services, and data pipelines utilizing .NET.

• Design and maintain cloud-native services in Azure, including Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, SQL, and Blob Storage.

• Refactor legacy code, transition to modern patterns, and enhance observability and testability.

• Collaborate with product teams, senior engineers, deliverability experts, and stakeholders to convert business needs into solutions.

• Engage in code reviews, technical design discussions, and incident response activities.

• Balance feature development with enhancements to reliability, maintainability, and the developer experience.

• Learn from senior engineers, seek constructive feedback, and contribute to engineering excellence.

• Assist in operating and modernizing a production platform that delivers millions of marketing emails for dealership customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proficiency in full-stack development across both backend and frontend code.

• Strong experience with C# / .NET for APIs, services, or backend systems.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services, or cloud experience for further development.

• Familiarity with or keen interest in high-volume email systems; knowledge of SPF/DKIM/DMARC, bounce management, or deliverability monitoring is advantageous.

• Solid background in writing SQL queries and working with relational databases; exposure to PostgreSQL is a plus.

• Ability to read, comprehend, and enhance mature codebases.

• Understanding of API design, testing methodologies, and CI/CD; growing interest in distributed systems.

• Experience in building modern frontend applications using React / Next.js.

• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

• Capability to work effectively in onsite, remote, or hybrid settings using video conferencing and collaboration tools, with proactive communication and a professional on-camera presence.

• Knowledge of the digital marketing domain is a plus.

• Familiarity with message queue architectures and event-driven systems is beneficial.

• Experience with email service providers such as SendGrid, Mailgun, or SparkPost is a plus.

• Experience in a multi-tenant SaaS environment is advantageous.
