Software Engineer, Data Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop the essential components of Lumos's identity data platform, which includes APIs, service layers, and user interfaces.

• Create and enhance the data interface framework to facilitate reusable contract design, versioning, and observability patterns.

• Transition product surfaces from direct integrations or database reads to well-structured, product-grade APIs.

• Construct foundational data infrastructure elements, Access Graph APIs, the Unified Entitlements Data API, and other shared capabilities.

• Empower engineering, product, and AI teams to access high-quality identity data seamlessly.

• Influence technical choices through architecture reviews, mentoring, and collaborative efforts with engineers.

• Advocate for resilience, observability, and scalability throughout the identity data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience as a backend or platform engineer developing service layers in front of MySQL/Postgres transactional databases, or equivalent ingestion/synchronization pipeline experience with Dagster, Airflow, or similar tools.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or TypeScript.

• Experience in designing service or API interfaces over a transactional datastore.

• Proven ability to define contracts that allow producers and consumers to evolve independently.

• Strong emphasis on clean API design, testability, and observability.

• A strong instinct for data accuracy, observability, and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).

• Familiarity with identity and access governance (IGA) data, encompassing identities, accounts, entitlements, group memberships, and non-human identities.

• Experience with gRPC or similar technologies is advantageous.
