📋 Description

• Design and manage distributed systems for real-time ingestion, indexing, and querying of blockchain data, overseeing services from initial design documentation and data modeling to implementation and monitoring.

• Take charge of the delivery process for new chain integrations, migrations, and data backfills, focusing on enhancing latency, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Collaborate with product and platform teams to establish data contracts and contribute to SDKs and foundational components utilized both internally at Coinbase and by external developers.

• Implement architectural and performance enhancements throughout the indexing stack, utilizing systems design principles related to partitioning, consistency, stream processing, and storage boundaries.

• Foster engineering excellence through rigorous code reviews, comprehensive testing practices, and the responsible application of AI tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience in building and maintaining distributed or data systems in a production environment.

• Strong grasp of systems design principles, including partitioning, consistency/availability trade-offs, stream processing, and storage/compute boundaries.

• Proficiency in a backend programming language, such as Go and/or Python.

• Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, gRPC, Redis, S3, ClickHouse, or MongoDB.

• Proven ability to transform ambiguous challenges into clear designs and deliver solutions that yield measurable results.

• Experience with blockchain or cryptocurrency data is advantageous, particularly familiarity with chain data structures, finality, reorgs, RPC nodes, or wallets.

• Responsible use of generative AI, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and achieve significant improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
