Software Engineer, Control Plane

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop lifecycle services for provisioning, updating, repairing, and retiring customer products.

• Align the observed state with the desired state.

• Create schema-driven, product-agnostic control-plane systems.

• Establish usage and consumption reporting pathways for billing systems.

• Design internal admin tools and services to support platform operations.

• Manage lifecycle, usage-reporting, and schema-contract interfaces, focusing on versioning and migration.

• Integrate third-party billing and partner systems.

• Facilitate cross-functional coordination across shared integrations.

• Enhance tools and processes to improve platform maintainability and reliability.

• Participate in the on-call rotation for control-plane services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and operating production backend systems.

• Broad systems knowledge across multiple interacting systems.

• Proven experience in designing APIs and contracts with attention to versioning, backward compatibility, and deprecation.

• Familiarity with asynchronous and event-driven systems, including idempotency, retries, partial failure, and eventual consistency.

• Expertise in troubleshooting complex issues related to networking, performance, and data integrity.

• Solid understanding of security boundaries.

• Self-motivated and capable of driving loosely defined problems to resolution.

• Quick to become productive in unfamiliar programming languages.

• Experience with production-level Go is preferred.

• Background in reconciliation or controller-pattern systems is preferred.

• Familiarity with schema- or config-as-data systems is preferred.

• Experience in metering or usage reporting is preferred.

• Background in building internal tools for expert operators is preferred.

• A crypto/web3 background is not a requirement.
