Software Engineer – Commercial Technologies, Specialty Networks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute full-stack features for web applications, encompassing the API and data layer as well as the user interface.

• Create interactive dashboards and workflow tools.

• Design adaptable, data-driven feature logic that can be modified without altering the code.

• Incorporate AI and analytics-driven features that yield explainable and traceable outcomes.

• Write reusable UI components.

• Construct and utilize RESTful APIs and serverless functions for various integrations.

• Potentially offer technical leadership to a small group of engineers, including contracted personnel.

• Divide tasks into clear, well-defined units and conduct code reviews.

• Maintain high engineering standards.

• Produce secure, privacy-focused code that complies with HIPAA regulations and application security benchmarks.

• Contribute to the development of automated testing.

• Keep applications up to date with the latest framework and platform standards.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the stack.

• Mentor developers and serve as a QA resource.

• Collaborate with both engineering and non-technical teams.

• Assist in software releases and automate the build and release processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

• Preferred: 7+ years of experience in full-stack software development using C# and a modern component-based JavaScript framework.

• Experience in leading projects from a technical perspective and guiding other engineers, including contract or partner resources, as a technical lead rather than a people manager.

• Ability to clearly scope and specify tasks for others to execute.

• Expert-level proficiency in C# with ASP.NET Core.

• Expert-level knowledge of Angular and TypeScript.

• Strong experience in designing and utilizing RESTful APIs.

• Solid skills in Entity Framework Core and SQL Server.

• Proficiency in writing hand-crafted SQL, such as Dapper, when performance necessitates.

• Experience in creating data-driven, configurable feature logic.

• Experience in developing data-focused interfaces such as dashboards, reporting tools, or search and filtering systems for large datasets.

• Practical experience in building and managing applications on Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Azure Functions, Key Vault, and Application Insights.

• Familiarity with authentication via Azure AD B2C and MSAL.

• Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD processes.

• A security-conscious mindset regarding coding practices.

• Experience in meeting quality and application security standards within regulated or enterprise environments.

• Strong communication abilities.

• Comfort navigating ambiguity and changing requirements.

• Collaborative problem-solving skills.

• Preferred: Experience in healthcare or clinical application development within a HIPAA-regulated, PHI-handling context.

• Preferred: Experience with integrating AI or LLM-backed functionalities, focusing on grounding, citation, or explainability.

• Preferred: Knowledge of clinical decision support, guideline-driven logic, or rules-based domain modeling.

• Preferred: Experience with multi-tenant SaaS and tenant data isolation.

• Preferred: Experience working with distributed, offshore, or contract engineering teams.

• Preferred: Familiarity with component-driven frontend architecture and third-party vendor data integrations.

• Preferred: Experience with performance monitoring tools and familiarity with SAST, SOC 2, or HITRUST.

• Preferred: Experience in legacy application migration and modernization.
