Software Engineer, Back-End – Mail

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage high-throughput production services that enable AI agent orchestration, connector integrations, and real-time data pipelines.

• Create and implement core platform services to enhance system scalability.

• Collaborate across the Superhuman product suite, which includes Go, Mail, Docs, and Enterprise.

• Partner with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End engineers to deliver AI-powered features from inception to completion.

• Build and refine infrastructure as code to ensure high availability for both consumer and enterprise clients.

• Contribute to fostering an engineering culture that prioritizes documentation, testing, and reliability.

• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of back-end development experience.

• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.

• Proven experience in building, deploying, and debugging large-scale production systems.

• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms, such as GCP or Azure.

• Proficiency with AI coding tools like Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code.

• Experience with real-time systems, event-driven architectures, or high-throughput API design is advantageous.

• Comprehensive knowledge of CI/CD processes and infrastructure as code methodologies.

• Capable of working independently, managing priorities across various projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Strong product instincts with the ability to balance speed and reliability in development.

• Must be authorized to work in Canada.

• Must not require visa sponsorship to maintain employment in Canada.
