This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and scale highly concurrent backend applications and microservices utilizing Elixir and Phoenix.
• Architect and implement resilient, distributed systems by leveraging the BEAM ecosystem alongside OTP (GenServer, Supervisors, Tasks).
• Design, create, and integrate RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Optimize database queries and schema models using Ecto with PostgreSQL as well as non-relational databases.
• Uphold code quality, maintainability, and test coverage through unit testing, integration testing, and thorough code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, DevOps engineers, and frontend developers within an agile framework.
• Engage in high-level architectural discussions, system design, and the establishment of engineering best practices.
• Over 5 years of software engineering experience focused on Backend Development, including a minimum of 3 years of active work with Elixir.
• Strong expertise in the Elixir ecosystem: Phoenix Framework, Ecto, and OTP.
• Comprehensive understanding of functional programming principles and design patterns.
• Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and mapping tools (Ecto).
• Proven experience in designing and integrating APIs (REST, GraphQL).
• Familiarity with microservice architectures, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and caching layers (Redis).
• Nice to have: Experience with Erlang.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Nice to have: Practical experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Nice to have: Exposure to Phoenix LiveView.
• Nice to have: Contributions to open-source projects within the Elixir / BEAM community.
