Python Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead and guide a dynamic team.

• Assume complete responsibility for backend features and enhancements from the design phase through implementation, deployment, and production support.

• Architect, develop, and sustain scalable, high-performance backend services utilizing Python and Django.

• Create and manage integrations with external systems, which include KYC, geolocation, payment partners, and various third-party services.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define and deliver new integrations.

• Establish observability throughout integration flows, incorporating monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms.

• Develop unit and integration tests to guarantee system reliability, avert regressions, and enhance test coverage and practices.

• Address production issues and engage in on-call rotations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of a minimum of 3 engineers.

• A minimum of 5+ years of development experience, primarily using Python, with strong expertise in API and system integrations.

• Demonstrated experience in integrating third-party APIs.

• In-depth knowledge of webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and failure management.

• Experience with payments and KYC integrations is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with observability tools for monitoring and troubleshooting production integrations.

• Strong foundational knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency.

• Experience in architectural design for highly loaded and scalable solutions.

• Comprehensive understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and production monitoring.

• Background in early-stage startups and fast-paced engineering settings.

• Experience in writing automated tests, assessing test coverage, and establishing test automation strategies.

• Proficiency with observability tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, and Grafana.

• Familiarity with the sports/betting industries.
