Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver comprehensive features from initial requirements through design, implementation, code review, and deployment.

• Take ownership of straightforward projects with moderate supervision.

• Engage in development across frontend, backend, and data layers while prioritizing performance and security.

• Work directly with database schemas and optimize query performance.

• Utilize AI coding and testing tools while contributing to the integration of AI capabilities into the product.

• Interpret business requirements to formulate suitable AI-enabled or non-AI solutions.

• Acquire and document knowledge of core product services to facilitate team-wide understanding.

• Analyze unfamiliar code, conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve automated code quality concerns.

• Contribute to the automated testing strategy and the continuous integration and delivery pipelines.

• Engage in design discussions, agile ceremonies, and collaborative efforts with Product across teams.

• Cultivate relationships with product users and coordinate across time zones, often through written communication.

• Share expertise and provide support to colleagues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience in software engineering delivering production-quality code using a modern programming language.

• A solid foundation in software engineering that is actively being enhanced.

• Proficiency in either frontend or backend development, with a desire to strengthen skills in the other area.

• Experience in integrating and consuming APIs within a cloud environment.

• Practical application of AI developer tools in personal workflows.

• Discernment in assessing when AI tools are effective.

• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, including self-taught projects that have been completed and deployed.

• Preferred: familiarity with containerization, infrastructure-as-code, or CI/CD pipelines.

• Preferred: experience in building or integrating features related to large language models, including prompt design, evaluation, or retrieval over extensive document sets.

• Preferred: experience with data-intensive systems such as processing pipelines or optimizing query performance.

• Preferred: exposure to the legal domain or other specialized professional users.
