Associate Director – Performance Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the fulfillment of technical requirements for Asset Management contracts and consulting services.

• Set the strategic direction for the team.

• Plan, resource, and oversee large-scale, long-term projects, making trade-offs related to resources, scope, and delivery.

• Evaluate work products and progress to ensure successful outcomes.

• Conduct meetings with external stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Address and resolve issues both within and among teams.

• Provide mentorship to team members and junior managers.

• Establish and ensure compliance with budgets, timelines, work plans, and performance standards.

• Create compensation planning, career coaching, and training initiatives, while implementing company policies for the team.

• Champion cross-functional team enhancement initiatives and recommend updates to team policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Assist in the development of strategic objectives within the team.

• Supervise the creation of new technology services, encompassing processes, procedures, AI tools, and necessary software updates.

• Lead and manage technical asset management activities for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, focusing on operational performance, availability, warranty analysis, degradation assessments, and coordination with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), operators, and internal stakeholders.

• Review monthly and annual invoicing calculation support documentation against energy contracts to confirm the accuracy of necessary calculations and metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4-8 years of management experience.

• Demonstrated skills in documentation, presentation, and communication with working teams and senior management, including CEOs and boards of directors.

• University Degree (or equivalent) with at least 8 years of domain experience.

• Experience in managing utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, covering operations, performance monitoring, contract compliance, and resolving technical issues.

• Master's degree/Graduate degree with a minimum of 6 years of domain experience.

• Proven capability to set direction and lead large cross-functional teams to achievement.

• Ability to function as part of a larger team.

• Established success in personnel management, coaching, and mentoring.

• Proven skill in liaising with clients and internal management on significant issues requiring high-level intervention.

• Proficient in root cause analysis and process improvement.

• Ability to think strategically, driving teams to meet organizational objectives and fostering cross-functional enhancements.

• Demonstrated project and personnel management abilities.

• Familiarity with BESS operational performance determinants, including availability, round-trip efficiency, capacity degradation, augmentation planning, safety considerations, and root cause analysis for equipment or control-related challenges.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF toolsets.
