Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and management of full-stack features utilizing React/Next.js frontends and Python backend services.

• Create scalable GraphQL APIs for both internal applications and external partner integrations.

• Guide technical solutions from unclear requirements through to implementation and production launch.

• Manage CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and ensure production stability for the services supported.

• Craft advanced UI patterns, data visualizations, and analytics-driven workflows in collaboration with product and design leaders.

• Uphold code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and refactoring efforts.

• Assess and advocate for new technologies and best practices.

• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, collaborative work, and technical support.

• Shape platform architecture and long-term technical strategy.

• Convey technical trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.

• Expertise in Python and TypeScript, particularly with React/Next.js.

• Strong grasp of clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns, distributed systems, and API-first methodologies.

• Extensive experience in designing and maintaining GraphQL APIs and service-oriented architectures.

• Significant experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines in cloud-based environments.

• Demonstrated ability to design scalable systems and make sound architectural decisions from start to finish.

• A security-focused mindset, including data integrity, access control, and adherence to SOC 2 compliance.

• Capability to clearly communicate technical trade-offs to non-engineering stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs, event-driven architectures, data pipelines, Apache Airflow, Neo4j, cybersecurity concepts, SOC 2/ISO 27001, and experience in insurtech, MGA, fintech, regulated data-intensive industries, or early-stage startups.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
