Senior React Native Engineer, Fulltime

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and deploy comprehensive product experiences utilizing React Native applications, APIs, and backend systems.

• Implement intricate features across the entire stack, from mobile user interfaces and client-side state management to APIs, data models, and production operations.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Analytics, and Engineering teams throughout the entire product development cycle.

• Convert product specifications and technical challenges into scalable engineering solutions.

• Establish technical plans and architecture for major features and system components.

• Design and uphold clear agreements between mobile applications and backend services.

• Recognize and execute solutions for technical, process, and product issues.

• Enhance system reliability through monitoring, observability, production support, and incident response.

• Contribute to engineering standards in development, testing, code reviews, architecture, and operational practices.

• Effectively work within large, established codebases while ensuring safe delivery of changes.

• Mentor engineers and offer constructive technical feedback.

• Communicate and collaborate efficiently with teams distributed globally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Extensive experience in developing and launching production mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript or JavaScript.

• Proficient in designing, developing, and managing backend APIs and distributed systems.

• Capability to independently deliver features across the entire stack, including mobile UI, client-side state management, APIs, data models, and production operations.

• Strong grasp of mobile engineering practices, including performance, offline and error states, observability, testing, accessibility, and release management.

• Experience in defining technical plans and designing scalable, maintainable, and extensible solutions.

• Ability to produce high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code.

• Proven experience in making significant changes safely within large codebases.

• Solid understanding of software engineering practices, including testing, code reviews, monitoring, and production reliability.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a history of collaboration across distributed teams.

• Ability to work autonomously, navigate uncertainty, and take ownership of intricate engineering challenges.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with Python or Kotlin for backend development.

• Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms.

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.

• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL.

• Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing applications at scale.

• Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership within an engineering team.
