Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Web Platform team that oversees SmartAsset's content management framework.

• Construct and transition to a new content management system.

• Design and support both front-end and back-end services.

• Operate and expand SmartAsset's website and other digital products as a member of an Agile Scrum team.

• Work closely with product teams and stakeholders to fulfill sprint and triage commitments.

• Engage in technical decision-making and document enhancements to processes and technology.

• Steer technical designs and guarantee the effective execution of the team's roadmap.

• Contribute to decisions regarding technology, tools, and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in building, maintaining, and scaling highly available and efficient web platforms using Java (or similar languages).

• Profound knowledge of ReactJS and NodeJS for developing modular and modern web applications.

• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.

• Proficient in version control using Git.

• Experience in designing and implementing intricate cloud solutions, preferably within AWS.

• Demonstrated ability to drive project and product success in Agile settings.

• Capability to coach and mentor team members.

• Skill in identifying risks, creating effective mitigations, and thriving in dynamic, cross-functional teams.

• Excellent communication abilities suited for asynchronous and fully remote collaboration.

• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.

• Must be capable of communicating through phone calls and/or video conferences.

• Familiarity with the principle of least privilege, application structure, and OOP patterns.

• Experience in working within or developing a CI/CD environment.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Understanding of incident, release, problem, and change management processes.

• Experience with or integrating headless WordPress or other content management systems.
