This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable, observable, and reliable product features for FormAssembly utilizing Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Create, refine, and implement technical specifications to guide development, encapsulating intent, design choices, and acceptance criteria.
• Leverage AI coding tools such as Claude Code for planning, implementation, testing, and code reviews while maintaining ownership of code quality and accuracy.
• Design schemas and construct PostgreSQL data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
• Ensure the quality, performance, governance, compliance, and security of sensitive data.
• Integrate new features with existing applications and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with DevOps to facilitate efficient and cost-effective containerized deployments on AWS, including ECS or Kubernetes.
• Engage with software engineers, product managers, UX designers, executive stakeholders, and other team members to convert business requirements into actionable solutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation and training resources.
• Mentor team members and disseminate best practices.
• Candidates must be residents and citizens of the United States.
• Ideally situated within the Eastern time zone or willing to adhere to those working hours.
• Prepared to undergo a thorough background check prior to employment, including reference verification, employment history validation with previous employers, GitHub repository assessment, and LinkedIn profile confirmation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 4–5+ years of practical software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on AWS.
• Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript, with significant experience in developing backend services using Node.js.
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL, encompassing schema design and query optimization.
• Proven hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering using Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools, including skill invocation and creation, MCP creation and integration, and RAG.
• Familiarity with specification-driven development, including writing specifications and guiding AI-assisted implementations.
• Ability to act as a quality gate for both human- and AI-generated code.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, version control systems like Git, CI/CD practices, and cloud computing platforms such as AWS.
• Capacity to analyze complex issues, decompose them into manageable tasks, identify viable solutions, and design effective strategies.
• Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A verified track record of successful contributions in Agile environments.
• Experience collaborating remotely across various countries and time zones.
• Background working with large-scale enterprise clients and delivering secure, high-availability solutions.
• Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or agentic workflows.
• Experience with vector search in PostgreSQL, including technologies like pgvector.
• Exposure to production LLM integration, including calling LLM APIs, prompt design, or working on AI-driven product features.
• Experience working directly with a Product Manager in Agile Ceremonies and Planning Sessions.
• Ability to accept and incorporate constructive feedback from peers and leadership.
