Mainframe VTAM Systems Programmer/Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and deploy enterprise infrastructure technology platforms and systems across the domains of cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware.

• Implement automation, monitoring, and optimization strategies to guarantee high availability and performance of infrastructure.

• Oversee infrastructure engineering projects and processes in line with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

• Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to incorporate new technologies and enhance infrastructure standards and processes.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges impacting infrastructure performance and reliability.

• Ensure compliance with technology strategies, standards, and governance frameworks.

• Evaluate and provide direction on infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures.

• Offer technical mentorship to junior technical staff.

• Create technical solutions through comprehensive analysis of infrastructure systems and lead infrastructure processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware.

• Familiarity with VTAM/Network and IBM Mainframe.

• Experience with VTAM/SNA (EE Configurations) and TCP/IP.

• Knowledge of encryption and certificate management.

• Understanding of IPSec, AT-TLS, SSH, Omegamon, NetMaster, and Traces.

• Experience with logical connectivity between applications and mainframe subsystems.

• Knowledge of Coupling facility support, High Availability, and Automation.

• Familiarity with parallel sysplex (GDPS) and IBM System utilities.

• Experience in the banking or financial services sector.

• Willingness to participate in on-call support and work during after-hours and weekends.

• Fluency in the English language is required.
