Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create high-quality, maintainable software modules for Cotiviti’s product suite.

• Execute unit and integration testing utilizing suitable methodologies and techniques.

• Assess requirements and specifications to produce detailed implementation designs.

• Investigate and resolve software issues arising from both internal and external clients.

• Continuously enhance professional knowledge of technologies chosen for the product suite.

• Oversee change control and maintain documentation in both written and electronic formats.

• Evaluate software engineering approaches to proposed solutions for compliance with best practices.

• Guide team members in software engineering methods and techniques.

• Work together with Senior Developers, QA, Product Owners, Project Management, and other stakeholders.

• Fulfill annual performance-review objectives, special projects, and other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 2-3 years of experience with software engineering best practices such as continuous integration, unit testing, refactoring, and code reviews.

• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies with experience in Agile/Scrum techniques.

• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and common design patterns.

• Proficiency in handling large data sets.

• Experience in optimizing and tuning SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.

• Capability to deliver project outcomes within estimated timelines in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

• 2-3 years of experience with Java or Python.

• 2-3 years of experience with VBScript or PowerShell.

• 2-3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, HBASE, or Hive.

• 2-3 years of experience with React, Cloudera Hadoop, or Appian.

• 2-3 years of experience with web services using Java/Spring Boot.

• 2-3 years of experience in container technology and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.

• 2-3 years of experience with Kafka stream processing using Kafka Streams and KSQL.

• 2-3 years of experience with Git.

• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence, is a plus.

• Must be capable of performing duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
