Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design and develop robust features and services, primarily using Go, under the mentorship of senior engineers.

• Engage in code reviews and pair programming to uphold code quality and facilitate knowledge sharing.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows, including Kubernetes and infrastructure automation.

• Assist in implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to enhance overall system reliability.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver specific components of larger technical projects.

• Build expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and security best practices through hands-on experience and mentorship.

• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, from design discussions to deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional experience in building and maintaining software systems.

• Developing proficiency in Go; knowledge of another backend language like Python is advantageous.

• Basic understanding of AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure and experience with Docker/Kubernetes containerization.

• Familiarity with the fundamentals of distributed systems, including APIs, messaging, and data consistency.

• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing methodologies.

• Knowledge of observability practices and tools for logging, metrics, and alerting.

• Basic understanding of application security principles, such as those outlined by OWASP.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in distributed, cross-functional teams.

• Ability to work under general supervision and gradually assume greater ownership of tasks.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Prior exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, or model evaluation pipelines is preferred.

• Familiarity with React and TypeScript is preferred.
