Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, microservices, and REST APIs that support cyber training and range capabilities.

• Create software utilizing modern programming languages such as TypeScript, Go, Python, or similar technologies.

• Construct and support applications that are deployed within Kubernetes-based environments.

• Integrate software with virtualized and cloud infrastructures, including AWS or comparable cloud platforms.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or similar tools.

• Troubleshoot and resolve application, infrastructure, integration, and deployment issues across distributed environments.

• Create and sustain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, infrastructure, networking, and cyber teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• Contribute to PCTE, RangeOS, and associated Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture initiatives.

• Engage in technical planning, design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Provide technical or project leadership when appropriate based on experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance.

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience.

• Strong background in building backend applications, services, or REST APIs.

• Strong proficiency in at least one or two programming languages.

• Experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration technologies.

• Experience with containerized applications utilizing technologies such as Docker.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience working collaboratively within modern software development, Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps environments.

• Experience with TypeScript and/or Go (Golang) development is preferred.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs and distributed backend services is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar environments is preferred.

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar technologies is preferred.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development practices is preferred.

• Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, configurations, or troubleshooting is preferred.

• Experience supporting PCTE, RangeOS, LevelUP, Unified Platform (UP), JCWA, or related DoD cyber programs is preferred.
