Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Define and outline system scope and objectives through comprehensive research and investigation.

• Design, develop, modify, or integrate intricate information systems.

• Create or adjust application systems and procedures to maximize efficiency, operating time, response time, and achieve desired outcomes.

• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts.

• Act as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead for small to medium projects, or oversee phases of medium to large projects.

• Maintain and enhance technical knowledge in software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities, and networks.

• Address system failures and performance incidents to minimize downtime and prevent future occurrences.

• Provide mentorship and training to junior analysts and programmers.

• Support and improve enterprise applications for Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and other Corporate Services partners.

• Conduct application development, modernization, integration, automation, and production support primarily for .NET-based applications.

• Resolve production issues and support application and server environments.

• Develop APIs and integrations.

• Optimize large-scale SQL data processes.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver technological solutions that address regulatory and operational requirements.

• Contribute to front-end improvements, AI-driven workflow functionalities, and the onboarding of new business sectors onto enterprise platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is required.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodologies, terminology, and standards is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in systems and programming is required.

• A minimum of 1 year of expert knowledge in at least one programming language used at BCBST is required.

• Proven proficiency with information technology utilized at BCBST is essential.

• Demonstrated analysis, design, and coding capabilities, along with a track record of leading large and complex projects successfully.

• Ability to interpret and convey technical and/or complex concepts into understandable information for project team members and/or business personnel.

• Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while demonstrating an exceptional work ethic.

• Leadership abilities.

• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

• Robust full-stack .NET development experience.

• Capability to balance project work with production support duties.

• Experience in complex enterprise environments, troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues, and supporting business-critical systems.

• Preferred experience with SQL Server, API development and integrations, cloud-based data environments, and server administration/support.

• Experience with large data sets, database query optimization, and enterprise application support is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with AI-enabled solutions and workflow automation.

• Participation in an on-call rotation approximately one week per month is mandatory.
