This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate production challenges across the Arkalytics platform.
• Create software enhancements, address bugs, and automate processes to enhance platform stability and customer satisfaction.
• Examine application, database, and cloud infrastructure issues within AWS settings.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurring problems.
• Develop and uphold clean, dependable, and thoroughly tested code.
• Enhance monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational tools.
• Work collaboratively with Support Services, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to efficiently resolve customer concerns.
• Engage in Tier 2 and Tier 3 production support and participate in shared on-call rotations.
• Contribute to system documentation, knowledge sharing, and ongoing process enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews and assist in maintaining high engineering standards.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and suggest improvements to the platform.
• Include a cover letter and resume, detailing a personally investigated and resolved production issue.
• Over 3 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Expertise in developing or supporting applications within AWS.
• Strong programming abilities in Python or another object-oriented language.
• Solid SQL proficiency and experience with relational databases such as Snowflake or Databricks.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, SDKs, and command-line tools.
• Proficient in working with JSON, XML, and CSV formats.
• Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills in production settings.
• Knowledge of Docker, ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes, or microservices is advantageous.
• Understanding of NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB is a plus.
• Comfortable operating in Linux or Unix environments.
• Awareness of data warehousing, business intelligence, or analytics platforms.
• Familiar with Git, Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
• Experience in Agile software development environments.
• AWS certification is preferable, or a willingness to pursue one.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is beneficial.
• Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Collaborative attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for continuous learning.
