Software Engineer, AI Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Identify new audio data sources and develop reliable pipelines to incorporate them into training datasets.

• Design and enhance large-scale data-processing systems, focusing on data quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.

• Work closely with AI Scientists to enhance training datasets and support the development of next-generation models.

• Manage engineering projects from initial problem identification through implementation and ongoing enhancements.

• Create data pipelines that drive model training and next-generation AI products.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a solid foundation in backend development.

• Expertise in Python and Bash within Linux environments.

• Experience in building and maintaining production systems, particularly those involving data pipelines or large-scale data processing.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with the initiative to work independently in uncertain situations.

• Preferred: experience with web crawlers, data acquisition, or distributed data-processing systems.

• Preferred: familiarity with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code, especially GCP and Terraform.

• Preferred: knowledge of ML training data, dataset quality, or audio processing.
