AI Engineer – Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, enhance, and maintain AI agents utilizing LangChain and LangGraph, encompassing states and workflows, tool invocation, memory integration, human-in-the-loop processes, and multi-agent systems.

• Integrate LLMs and embedding models via Amazon Bedrock, choosing models and strategies based on effectiveness, latency, and cost considerations.

• Construct RAG pipelines with document ingestion and chunking, embeddings, indexing, and searching using Amazon OpenSearch Service, Amazon S3 Vectors, Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases, and self-hosted vector databases on EC2/EKS.

• Develop APIs and services that expose agents and link them to the Omie ERP, databases, and legacy systems.

• Deploy and manage solutions on AWS, including Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, EKS, and S3, employing infrastructure as code and CI/CD methodologies.

• Create evaluations and implement observability mechanisms, including test datasets, quality metrics, tracing, and production monitoring of cost and latency.

• Enforce guardrails, security measures, and responsible AI practices, including prompt injection prevention, tool and data access controls, and personal data safeguarding in accordance with Brazil’s LGPD.

• Collaborate with AI Tech Leads, Data Scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders to identify challenges and propose solutions, including PoCs and technical demonstrations.

• Adhere to cybersecurity protocols and best practices to secure AI agent data and systems.

• Document architecture, workflows, and technical decisions, including diagrams, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and README files.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in software development using Python, including writing typed and tested code, asynchronous programming, and sound engineering methodologies.

• Experience in deploying LLM applications into production, including agents developed with LangChain and LangGraph, prompt and context engineering, and structured outputs.

• Familiarity with the usage patterns and applicability of leading LLMs, such as those from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

• Proficient in RAG methodologies, including embeddings, chunking, hybrid search, re-ranking, and vector databases like Amazon OpenSearch Service, Amazon S3 Vectors, or Chroma.

• Knowledge of Amazon Bedrock and AWS services for serverless or containerized applications, such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.

• Experience in backend development and integrations, including REST APIs like FastAPI, message queues, databases, Docker, Git, and CI/CD practices.

• Understanding of the quality and operational aspects of LLM applications, including evaluations, observability tools such as LangSmith or Langfuse, cost management, latency, and security considerations.

• Strong communication skills with both technical and business audiences, including proficiency in writing; ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams; and English proficiency for reading technical documentation.

• Familiarity with application development using Jira in agile project methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Nice to have: Experience with LLMOps, LiteLLM, MCP, fine-tuning, Google Vertex, self-hosted vector databases on EC2 or EKS, React, Next.js, Streamlit, Java, TypeScript, ERP/back-office systems, and AWS certifications or experience with AI on Google Cloud.
