Software Engineer – Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of key areas of PayBox from identifying issues to defining approaches and iterating through production.

• Propel the recently introduced PayBox product into its next stage of 0→1 development and expansion.

• Create payment and peer-to-peer transfer experiences optimized for AI interfaces.

• Develop integrations across various AI platforms, applications, and the PayBox ecosystem.

• Construct infrastructure and product experiences to facilitate the onboarding of new applications and integrations.

• Collaborate closely with the Product team to transform ambitious concepts into straightforward, user-friendly experiences.

• Enhance PayBox onboarding and user experience while minimizing user friction.

• Analyze challenging technical and product issues using first principles reasoning.

• Make practical decisions quickly, without waiting for complete information.

• Navigate the product and technical stack based on the most impactful problems.

• Leverage AI extensively to boost speed and output while maintaining technical acumen and attention to detail.

• Partner closely with the Chief Engineer and a small, focused team.

• Outstanding technical reasoning and a solid foundation in engineering principles.

• Ability to deconstruct unfamiliar and ambiguous problems to arrive at effective solutions.

• High agency and a proactive attitude towards identifying critical issues and taking ownership of their resolution.

• Proven experience in building and delivering significant products, projects, or systems end-to-end.

• Attention to detail and thoroughness in execution.

• Strong systems thinking skills, including system design, technical trade-offs, and architectural decisions.

• Good product judgment related to user experience and technology.

• Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.

• Independent thinking in an AI-focused environment; ability to utilize AI while maintaining technical reasoning and accountability.

• Strong motivation for ownership, responsibility, and achieving product outcomes.

• Nice-to-have: experience as a founding or early engineer at a high-growth startup.

• Nice-to-have: experience in founding and building a company or product.

• Nice-to-have: experience in taking a product from conception through launch and iteration.

• Nice-to-have: experience working in small, highly autonomous engineering teams.
