Software Engineer – AFNWC, NCC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Offer technical direction and oversight on the design, architecture, and upkeep of secure software solutions provided by development partners.

• Govern the implementation of DevSecOps, ensuring that automated security testing, code scanning, and vulnerability management are seamlessly integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

• Guide agile teams in converting high-level government requirements into technical designs and user stories.

• Assess and review automated build, test, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning strategies.

• Utilize systems engineering principles to analyze requirements, assess architecture feasibility, and advise government stakeholders on technical risks and tool selection.

• Review and enhance architecture diagrams, system specifications, and high-level technical documentation.

• Act as a technical liaison among government lead engineers, users, stakeholders, and development teams.

• Engage in agile ceremonies and spearhead continuous improvements in DevSecOps processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US citizen.

• Must have and maintain a Secret clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

• At least 15 years of pertinent experience.

• Minimum of 5 years supporting the Department of Defense (DoD).

• Extensive knowledge and practical experience throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Strong expertise in software design with an emphasis on secure development practices.

• Proficiency in Python is preferred.

• Deep understanding of agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.

• Skilled in DevSecOps tools and practices, particularly CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and security integration.

• Experience with GitLab is preferred.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, containerization, and cloud security practices.

• Proven track record in supporting Department of Defense software development projects.

• Knowledge of government compliance requirements and security frameworks.

• Experience in classified environments and managing sensitive information.

• Current CSSLP or equivalent certification is preferred.

• A Master's degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years supporting the DoD is preferred.
