Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement sustainable, scalable, and reliable software solutions within a secure cloud infrastructure.

• Advocate for and establish best practices in testing across all disciplines.

• Foster a quality-oriented and testable mindset throughout the team.

• Cultivate shared responsibility for quality and testing from the initial stages of projects.

• Lead planning and refinement sessions to assess and estimate testing efforts while identifying dependencies.

• Collaborate with Software Engineers during development and code reviews to ensure adequate test coverage and minimize duplicated work.

• Create and maintain tools for integration, regression, load, performance, and security testing.

• Ensure the automation framework is focused, efficient, and resilient.

• Investigate complex issues to determine root causes by analyzing logs, databases, and system behavior.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in advocating for contemporary software testing methodologies and mentoring engineers to foster a robust, automation-first testing culture.

• Extensive experience in developing and maintaining automated test suites across the entire testing pyramid, encompassing unit, component, integration, end-to-end, load, and performance testing.

• High level of proficiency in various testing strategies (TDD, BDD, Black/White Box), in addition to mocking/stubbing, test data management, and test results reporting.

• Practical experience with native Golang testing packages and UI frameworks like Playwright.

• Proficiency in another programming language may be considered if there is a commitment to learning Golang.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices including Infrastructure as Code, and cloud platforms such as GCP.

• Strong understanding of event-driven, distributed microservice architectures and containerization.

• Solid knowledge of Git workflows, OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.

• Highly organized and analytical problem-solver with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to share knowledge, and a commitment to delivering quality work.
