Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Become a part of an agile engineering team dedicated to enhancing quality within LUMA, Dotmatics' scientific software platform.

• Take ownership of testing for a designated application module.

• Develop, maintain, and expand automated test suites utilizing Cucumber, TypeScript, Cypress, and Playwright as needed.

• Contribute to test scenarios during the planning phase and document test stories as they are created.

• Provide reports on release readiness.

• Design and document functional, regression, and integration test cases.

• Investigate and replicate defects, submit bug reports in JIRA, and validate fixes.

• Ensure reliable tests within CI pipelines while enhancing test execution and reporting.

• Analyze API documentation and develop meaningful automated coverage.

• Collaborate with developers, application scientists, and DevOps engineers.

• Conduct manual exploratory testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in QA/testing, with a minimum of one year in hands-on test automation.

• Practical experience with Cypress, including working with selectors, custom commands, debugging failures, and implementing the Page Object Model.

• Proficient in TypeScript or JavaScript, particularly with promises and async/await.

• Familiarity with BDD/Cucumber, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.

• Skills in test case design and documentation.

• Comfortable using Git and GitHub, including branching, pull requests, and conducting code reviews.

• Experience with JIRA or a comparable tracking system.

• Ability to adopt a code-first approach and develop concrete testing strategies.

• Strong attention to detail and a readiness to learn and accept feedback.
