Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate requirements to create a thorough testing strategy and detailed test cases

• Develop and execute both manual and automated tests across unit, component, integration, and end-to-end levels

• Create, build, and enhance scalable automated testing frameworks for feature validation and AI-driven product workflows

• Design and maintain UI and API test automation utilizing Selenium, pytest, and Playwright

• Perform performance and load testing employing tools such as Locust

• Generate test reports using tools like Allure

• Communicate regressions to the relevant development team

• Offer prompt feedback on design documents and testability to guide design choices

• Collaborate with engineers, product management, and UX within an independent, cross-functional agile team

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

• Over 4 years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test, QA Engineer, or similar role

• A strong commitment to delivering high-quality software with an emphasis on testability, robustness, and performance

• High proficiency in Python and JavaScript (both required) for test automation

• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as pytest, Selenium, and Playwright

• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Testing Pyramid principles

• Experience in developing or enhancing automation frameworks for UI/API/component/unit tests

• Proficient with Git (required) and CI/CD systems like GitLab CI (preferred) or Jenkins

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS required; GCP/Azure preferred)

• Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Mac OS development environments and shell scripting (Bash required)

• Understanding of microservices-based web applications, including frontend, backend, and database layers

• Capability to write complex SQL queries

• Exceptional communication, organizational, and collaboration abilities to work with global and cross-functional teams

• Experience with Locust is an advantage

• Background working on AI products with non-deterministic behavior is a significant plus

• Knowledge of PowerShell is a strong advantage

• Experience in developing Ansible playbooks is a plus
