Software Development Engineer II – Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• In the role of SDET II within Akamai's Cloud Technology Group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing tools to ensure software quality and reliability.

• Work collaboratively with various teams to effectively identify, analyze, and resolve software defects.

• Play a significant role in enhancing testing processes and methodologies, promoting innovation and continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Develop frameworks to automate deployment, configuration, and testing for numerous components of our compute cloud offering.

• Provide guidance on utilizing and managing automation frameworks and tools, including Pytest, Playwright, SaltStack, Github Actions, and Jenkins.

• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in developing Python test cases and creating automated scripts.

• Possess experience in Linux system administration, particularly in server administration, networking, system internals, and package management.

• Master testing best practices, from analyzing design documentation to creating comprehensive, repeatable test plans.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Proficient in both Manual and Automation Testing using Python, Java, and TestNG.

• Experience working with skilled teams of SDET engineers and effectively communicating with development teams throughout the testing process.

• A strong interest in cloud security and familiarity with secure development best practices as outlined by organizations like OWASP.

• Good understanding of systems programming and networking concepts, along with exposure to network fundamentals (HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, etc.).

• Interest in and experience with AI-driven agentic quality engineering, along with the practical application of AI in the software testing lifecycle.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies/tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible.
