SDET/QA Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the automated release gate in conjunction with the Tech Lead and DevSecOps.

• Create and sustain automated test suites that run against staging prior to production releases.

• Guarantee that production modifications are not deployed without passing necessary automated quality gates.

• Design and implement API contract tests for .NET, Python backend, frontend, and other service-to-service interfaces.

• Execute consumer-driven and/or schema-based contract testing.

• Detect breaking changes in API request and response formats before production deployment.

• Develop scalable automation suites using Playwright or Cypress.

• Construct test fixtures for authentication, authorization, and multi-tenancy.

• Ensure robust test isolation between different tenants.

• Create role-based end-to-end tests for comprehensive business workflows.

• Automate processes that involve various user roles.

• Write and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines from the ground up.

• Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD and set up quality gates that can prevent merges and releases.

• Investigate silent failures where successful HTTP responses do not necessarily reflect successful business results.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in production-level TypeScript.

• Proficient in production-level C#.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress.

• Experience in building and maintaining large-scale automated test suites.

• Familiarity with authentication and authorization testing.

• Strong understanding of test isolation and test data management.

• Extensive API testing experience.

• Experience with API contract testing.

• Knowledge of consumer/provider contracts and API versioning.

• Ability to identify breaking API changes prior to deployment.

• Strong GitLab CI/CD experience.

• Experience in creating GitLab pipelines from scratch.

• Capable of integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Emphasis on testing real business outcomes rather than just verifying HTTP status codes.

• High proficiency in English.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Must reside in Pakistan.
