Software Development Engineer II, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish the testing strategy and performance quality benchmarks.

• Automate the software development lifecycle (SDLC) pipeline from testing through to deployment and validation.

• Analyze and resolve issues related to deployment.

• Determine root causes and offer solution recommendations across various environments.

• Create and sustain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.

• Develop and manage test plans and test cases for microservices.

• Work collaboratively on integration testing with other engineering teams.

• Propose enhancements to testing environments.

• Examine requirements for secure deployment and rollback strategies.

• Confirm deployment prerequisites.

• Write and update scripts to automate platform service deployments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Proficiency in Python and Pytest.

• Strong understanding of contemporary testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Perl and Golang.

• Experience in debugging.

• Knowledge of x86 and ARM architecture.

• Understanding of Debian packaging, apt, and dependency management.

• Solid Linux fundamentals, particularly in performance tuning.

• Experience with Bash and scripting fundamentals.

• Knowledge of virtualization and containerization.

• Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and SaltStack.
