Software Development Engineer II – Mainframe Developer, Assembler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and test software applications for assigned tasks under the mentorship of senior developers.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues with supervision.

• Assist in resolving application or system issues during the development and testing phases.

• Evaluate specified business or system requirements and implement low-complexity technical solutions for designated modules or tasks.

• Aid in mainframe assembler development efforts.

• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, sprint activities, and learn best development practices from senior team members.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and team members to clarify requirements, communicate progress, and address blockers promptly.

• Provide quality assurance support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3-6 years of coding experience in Mainframe Assembler or TPF is mandatory.

• Daily activities involve analysis, development, testing, validation, and a collaborative approach.

• Familiarity with Assembler.

• Experience in QA support.

• Ability to adhere to established coding standards, development guidelines, and security or quality expectations.

• Knowledge of mainframe assembler development concepts.

• Understanding of DB2/files concepts and technical problem-solving skills.

• Eagerness to acquire ACP/CCS business and system knowledge pertinent to assigned duties.

• Proficiency in Mainframe Assembler Programming.

• Knowledge of JCL and COBOL is a plus.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

• Debugging skills.

• DB2 experience is an advantage.

• Knowledge of Java and Python is beneficial.

• Prior experience in an Agile environment is an asset.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
