Software Development Engineer I-2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Provide operational assistance for essential mainframe tooling platforms and guarantee high availability.

• Engage in on-call rotation duties.

• Assist with significant infrastructure upgrades and migrations.

• Assess and pilot new technologies for modernizing mainframe systems.

• Implement ZOWE, integrate with VS Code, APIs, and enhance developer productivity platforms.

• Facilitate the adoption of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Glean.

• Support projects related to APIs, scripting, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.

• Create integrations between mainframe and distributed/open systems platforms.

• Discover opportunities to optimize workflows through AI and automation.

• Collaborate in support of CSG’s technologies that enable companies to connect with, utilize, and pay for valued services.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in administering, configuring, upgrading, and supporting mainframe development tools and utilities.

• Strong expertise in JCL, SDSF, ISPF, CA7, TWS/OPC/IZWS, VSAM, Cobol, and ISPW.

• Demonstrated experience in CI/CD design and automation using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Chef.

• Proficient in Python, JavaScript, and PowerShell scripting/programming.

• Experience in supporting critical tooling platforms and ensuring their high availability.

• Background in participating in on-call rotations.

• Experience in facilitating major infrastructure upgrades and migrations.

• Familiarity with APIs, scripting, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

• Proven experience in building integrations between mainframe and distributed/open systems platforms.
